Principal's Message

Nurture.  Innovate.  Celebrate.

Dear Students, Parents, Carers and Families

YEAR 6 GRADUATION – WEDSDAY 7TH DECEMBER

As we draw closer to the end of the year, it will be a time of change and new experiences for our Year 6 students who will move on to secondary school. To help celebrate their years of primary school we will hold the Year 6 Graduation in the Andrew Groh Gymnasium followed by a celebration disco in the old gym.

It is always an exciting night and our parent and teacher Graduation Committee has done a fantastic job in organising the night and celebrations. They have really gone above and beyond this year t make he event even more special for all of the Year 6 students and families!

WHOLE SCHOOL TRANSITION DAYS

As we have been doing for the past few years, our whole school transition program will run across three days in preparation for 2023.

  • Tuesday 13th December - state-wide transition
    • 2023 Foundation students 9.30am to 1.30pm – ONE DAY ONLY
    • Our Year 6s go to their secondary school.
    • Our current Foundation to Year 5 students transition to their new classes and year groups for the next three days
  • Wednesday 14th December
    • Second day of transition for our current Foundation to Year 5 students
    • Majority of our Y6s return to school with some Y6s having a second day
  • Thursday 15th December
    • Third and final day of our transition program for our current Foundation to Year 5 students

Our transition days will further enable our students and teachers to start to build positive relationships by getting to know each other earlier. Making these connections over a number of days will also allow teachers to share rich and valuable hand over information between the students’ current teacher and their new teacher for 2023. This time and information is essential to establishing the right learning dynamics and maximise learning time from the beginning of the year.

It will also greatly support the students’ wellbeing when they transition next year!

Take care and stay safe.

Kind regards,
