Cultural Learning Walk - Infants Campus

Yaama!

On Tuesday, our Infants students participated in some special Indigenous activities to celebrate our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Learning Walk. Infants students danced, watched a presentation of our year in review and painted special stones that will be used to create a yarning circle.  A special thank you to Mrs Amanda Gwalter for preparing and showcasing our students' work from throughout the year, our AEA Team, special guest Mrs Karen Tighe from the Armidale Diocese Office, teachers and our parent community for supporting and celebrating Indigenous culture and history.

St Ed's Presentation Night - Tues 6th December

Our Annual Presentation Night will be held this Tuesday 6th December, 6:30pm sharp at the Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Convention Centre (TRECC). Students are asked to arrive at 6:00pm. There will be reserved seating for official guests and staff members. Please do not bring food to eat whilst in the Centre and please note that prams/strollers are not allowed in the aisles.  Due to the size of TRECC there will be plenty of seating for everyone.

• Drop off:   All students will enter the Hall through the front foyer and go to their allocated area.

Our School End of Year Publication will be available in the front foyer of the TRECC between 5:45pm and 6:30pm before the commencement of Presentation Night. The publications will be for the eldest child in each family. The stations in the foyer will be alphabetised according to students' last name.

• Pick up:  At the conclusion of the evening (approx 9.00pm), students may be collected from their seats by parents.  Please make sure your child has his/her name marked off with the supervising teacher.

Please note that all students in the school will be involved in a concert item for their grade and it is an expectation that ALL STUDENTS remain for the entire evening (ending at approximately 9.00pm).

Final rehearsal for Presentation Night will be held on Tuesday 6th December. Students will come to school as normal (students to wear SPORTS uniform) and will be transported to and from TRECC by bus for rehearsal. Permission notes for bus travel have been sent as an Event via the Parent Compass Portal and require parent approval.

PLEASE NOTEAward Winners - Photos will be taken by a staff member on the night and will then be emailed to your child’s student email address.

St Ed's P & F Golf Day

It’s been 2 years since we’ve been able to come together for our Annual St Ed's P & F Golf Day. As par as I know our teams certainly did have a tee-rific day. We had 116 players/29 teams trying their hardest to stay out of the bunkers and hitting the ball as par as the eye could see.

Days like our Golf Day wouldn’t go ahead without our amazing head organisers - St Ed's parents - Nigel Robertson & Karissa Burrows, supported by Cindy and Jason prepping all the behind the scenes, our P&F ladies Bec Evans and Lauren Propsting on bbq fuelling up bellies before the tee off and all the volunteers that supported the day.  The Burrows family, Robertson family and Harry Cooper were running hot at the 19th hole with 2x100 clubs run and raffle.  Thanks Cindy for capturing all the action behind the lens.

A huge effort by our St Ed’s community with just under $5,000 raised for the day!!

Special thanks to our wonderful sponsors and businesses who supported our Golf Day (see below).

Tamworth Bus Lines - Bus Run Tracking Apps

As you know over the last month there have been a number of times where buses have been late or diverted due to flooding. Understandably this causes a lot of concern for parents about the time buses will arrive at their child’s stop, and could in some cases put students at risk where parents may drop them off at the bus stop, not realising there is a delay.

Over the last few months Tamworth Buslines has been working with Transport for NSW to provide a data feed which allows parents to track buses live utilising any travel apps.  They like either Any Trip, Next There or Transport Me. Please see further information below.

Compass Parent Portal

Compass is your one stop shop, so please use it for the following applications:

Attendance

Please remember that it is a requirement that all absences must be explained through our Compass Portal within 7 days of the absence or students are automatically marked 'absent unexplained'.  If you are having trouble logging onto Compass, please call either school office and they can send your login details through to you via email.

Please DO NOT use the Compass App to record a PARTIAL absence (eg. attending a doctor's appointment in the middle of the day), late arrival or early pickup as it interferes with the school's Compass Kiosk normal signing in or out of children on arrival or departure.

Personal Information

All personal details can be updated in the Compass Portal, so if you change address, phone numbers or emails, please access the portal and make your changes there.

Second Hand Clothing Pool

Have you recently had a sort through your children’s summer school uniforms and have unwanted items? If so, both the Infants and Primary Clothing Pools are in need of good quality second hand items. Items can be donated or sold on consignment with 20% commission taken by the school. Most second hand items are $5 each, girls summer tunics $10 and winter tunics $15.

Please pop into either school office to look through the clothing pool or alternatively phone and the ladies will happily check availability for you.
