A Short Message from Dr Jake
Dear Parents & Friends,
Teachers Transform Futures
For nearly three decades, the National Excellence in Teaching Awards (NEiTA) has been recognising and rewarding exceptional and inspirational teachers. It is the longest running, community-based awards program to recognise teaching excellence in Australia and New Zealand, and is proudly supported by Futurity Investment Group.
Yesterday afternoon they held their annual awards ceremony announcing the winners of the Apple Awards. These awards acknowledge outstanding teachers who have gone above and beyond for their students.
We congratulate Mrs Amanda Sheridan, Apple Award winner, for her commitment to teaching excellence and outstanding achievements. Over 2000 nominations across Australia were received and after a rigorous judging process, Amanda was selected by an independent panel of judges as the national winner.
Her exemplary work extends far beyond the classroom, with her dedication to instilling a love of learning in young minds throughout St Edward's. Her passion for teaching is evident in every aspect of her work and she is an inspiration to all teachers, not just at St Edward's but across the Diocese and beyond.
Mrs Sheridan, our Inclusion Leader and Infants Campus Co-ordinator, has been a driving force behind many successful initiatives within our school, such as introducing reading and writing interventions for struggling students and overseeing our inclusion programs. She is also dedicated to building a positive learning atmosphere that encourages collaboration and self-expression.
We are honoured to have Mrs Sheridan as a part of the St Edward's family and look forward to many more years of recognition for Australian teaching excellence.
Again, congratulations Amanda!
Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us as we are only too happy to help.
Peace & Best Wishes
Dr Jake Madden
