Wattle Group Term 4, 2022

Wattle Group - Term 4

And just like that, the year is over!

We started the year still amid Covid restrictions and during the year it has eased and changed a lot so families were able to come back into the kinder and spend time with us. Changing teachers during term 2 and saying goodbye to Emma as she went on maternity leave, the children moved through and adjusted to the transitions well. We are so proud of them.

Some homework for over the break, don’t forget to have some play dates as there is some much social learning in a play date. It doesn’t have to be big or long, an hour at the park is enough!

Don’t put the lunch box away, use it when you’re out and about or for a picnic at home to practice opening and closing it. It’s a good time to practice independence skills, dressing, packing bags, using a lunch box, etc.

We always encourage children to engage in a social sport activity, such as ‘playball’ or ‘ready steady kids’, building gross motor skills to support fine motor strength and control.  Time at social sports also builds resilience, social skills, and confidence.

The time at kindergarten is all about building resilience, social skills, confidence, and independence, which then form the foundation and facilitate academic skills and learning.

We look forward to seeing you all in 2023 and if you have any questions or concerns about kinder or your child please reach out and we can organise a time to chat.

We have loved being a part of your children’s kinder year. Have a safe Christmas break and take care
