Banksia Group Newsletter – Term 4

With the end of the year very near, the excitement levels for warm weather, holidays, festivities, and primary school are building in the Banksia room.

All of the children have spent the last few weeks attending their school transition programs and we are so proud of the feedback they have been giving us about their school visits. Conversations around making new friends, meeting teachers and their new

learning environments have been enthusiastic and positive.

We have continued our buddy program this term, this time intentionally pairing up children with others attending their school to assist with building relationships and social skills. Buddy time supports the children to interact with others who they may not have spent much time with, encouraging them to work together on an activity or game.

With the combination of buddy time and going to the same school, it has been lovely to see the children choosing to play with each other as new and deeper friendships are forming.

Having only joined the Banksia team at the beginning of this term, I understand that the year has seen a lot of changes occur within the room. From day one, the children were extremely welcoming toward me. With a team of strong educators supporting them, the children have shown great resilience and adaptability. Thank you to all families for your support of our program and for allowing us to be a part of your village this year.

Thanks,

Jamee, Amy, Kath and Marilyn
