Catholic Identity

BEGINNING OF THE YEAR

ST. BRENDAN'S STAFF PRAYER

St Brendan’s staff came together last Friday in prayer, focusing on the Beatitudes, Matthew 5:1-10.

The word “beatitude” comes from the Greek word for ‘blessed’ or ‘promise of true happiness’.

The Beatitudes were presented to the crowds by Jesus on Mount Sinai. They were seen as GUIDELINES for life that lead us to happiness of true and lasting friendships with others and God.

They challenge us and they strengthen us.

The teachers also shared in reading a set of Beatitudes for teachers and prayers focusing on our attitude as teachers in a Catholic school modelling the faith and love of Christ.

We pray for all our teachers and students beginning this new school year at St Brendan’s.

We pray for their families and our wider St Brendan’s Community that they will all be nurtured to grow to the fullest of their potential, body, mind and spirit.
