NAIDOC Week

NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each year to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life. The week is a great opportunity to participate in a range of activities and to support your local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.

In 2020 the theme for NAIDOC Week was Always Was, Always Will Be. which recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years.

We are all spiritually and culturally connected to this country; criss-crossed by generations of brilliant Nations.

Mini Transition play sessions.

2021 Foundation families, please save the date of Friday, 20 November 2020 as we will be holding mini transition sessions.

These will be groups of 5 students, with 1 parent and 1 teacher only.

Bookings are being taken whilst attending the EYE sessions this week or through a phone call by the school.

Parent Feedback - Kiss and Go

Parent X phoned the school to share some in relation to the Kiss and Go.

Parent X said "after reading the Compass post about Kiss & Go, she wanted us to know that she thinks we are doing a great job in assisting drop off and pick up and understands what a difficult process it may be to manage.  Parent X is really appreciative. Thanks Parent X. :)

Remembrance Day was celebrated with a minutes silence on the 11th of November. Many students created rocks for our Kitchen Garden in memory of those who have fought and died in the line of duty to keep us free.

Child Safe Standard 7:

Empowering children

Promoting children’s participation can benefit their experience at school because it provides valuable information about their experience.

Most importantly, when children have opportunities to participate and feel their contributions are valued, they are more likely to speak up when harmed or feeling unsafe.
