Fantasy Week Celebrations
Last week the IRC celebrated Fantasy Week with a fantasy display and a range of interesting activities.
As part of the celebrations the well-known author of fantasy novels, Michael Pryor visited the school and gave an impressive lecture on the tricks and trade of writing fantasy stories to all year 9 students. He also conducted two workshops for selected year 9 students and took them on a mental tour of an imaginary fantasy world, in order to further expand their fantasy writing skills.
Other activities included “Guess the Book Title,” “Fantasy Artifact” and inter house “Fantasy Quiz” competitions.
The students also took part in the Fantasy Creative Writing Competition. The celebrations culminated in a fantasy dress up day on Friday.
