Term 2 Week 1 PBIS Report

We would like to welcome everyone back to school for a fun and exciting Term 2.

In Term 1, most students focused on following the PBIS rules.  You would have learnt about what it means to be Responsible, Respectful, Resilient and Safe.

This Term, we would love to see students focus on the programs that St Mary’s offer to help each student succeed.

These include:

  • Looking at the break timetable to see what activities are on at recess and lunch
  • Using the “Too far, Ignore, walk, talk” strategy when dealing with students who might be upsetting you.
  • Thinking about What you CAN control and focus on YOUR on way of dealing with things.
  • Having a Growth Mindset -
  • Using Mindfulness through the Smiling Mind App -
  • Following success Criteria - This can help students succeed in what ever activity they are participating in.

The PBIS Blitz for Week 1 and 2 will be ‘Bounce Back - Being Resilient’

One of our PBIS rules is Resilience -

What does it mean to be Resilient?

Resilient people are aware of situations, their own emotional reactions, and the behavior of those around them. Another characteristic of resilience is the understanding that life is full of challenges. While we cannot avoid many of these problems, we can remain open, flexible, and willing to adapt to change.

Term 2 Week 2 - PBIS Report

The current PBIS Blitz is ‘Bounce Back - Being Resilient’

What does it mean to be Resilient?

Mrs Brown has kindly narrated a picture story book called ‘Resilience’.  The link will be sent to teachers this week.  We hope students enjoy this book and can have a class discussion about different ways they can be resilient.

Thanks to Miss Calder for the book and to Mrs Brown for narrating.

Term 2 Week 2 - PBIS Student Award

Our PBIS student of the Week comes from the  3/4  Area.

Miss Calder and Miss Turk think this student is a super PBIS student who has shown that she is resilient by not sweating the small stuff!  This student has a happy demeanour and never whinges or whines.  She is a good sport and reacts appropriately to her feelings and emotions. Congratulations!

Well done Romily Macreadie, you are our PBIS Student of the Week!!
