Parent Webinar Series

We’re excited to announce that parents of Surf Coast Secondary College have exclusive access to Elevate Education’s Parent Webinar Series for Term 2, 2021. Elevate works with our students, delivering high impact workshops on study skills, motivation, wellbeing, and exam preparation. By tuning into their webinar series you will learn how to better support your children at home through reinforcing the skills they learn at school.

The webinars take place fortnightly across the term, with the first commencing last week on Wednesday 5th May at 7pm (AEST). Registration is essential and is free for parents of Surf Coast Secondary College. CLICK HERE to register. The webinar is run live online from 7pm – 8pm (AEST) where the presenter will share Elevate’s research findings and skills, and will conduct a live Q&A so you can ask them questions directly. 

Canvas

Now families have had a bit of time to play with and familiarise yourselves with Canvas, we thought we would look at some tips to make it more personal and user friendly. In the video below, it includes a quick run through of how you can manage the course cards on the dashboard and manage your notification settings for all of Canvas and then course by course. The video is especially useful for those of you that are still familiarising yourselves with the system or have multiple students at the school.

Literacy Family Games Night

Come along and participate with other families in a night of fun literacy based games on 12 May. Together we will learn how to play a range of games that you can take straight home to play! These will not only make learning fun, support literacy development also brings the family together and have fun together! Each family will be gifted a show bag so they can continue the fun at home. SCSC Numeracy Competition

The SCSC Numeracy team invites families to enter the SCSC Numeracy competition. Answer the question and justify your method of calculation: What is the volume of a lemon?

The winning entry will receive some SCSC merchandise from the school office.
