Students in Year 8 have been focusing on Mongolia as part of their current unit of work. Aspects of study included the geographical features of Mongolia, nomaidac life of the Mongol people and the rise of the Mongol Empire.

Infographics on Mongolia

Infographics have been created to demonstrate vital information about Mongolia and its past. Creating Infographics was an exciting task and students used programs such as Piktochart, Infogram and Canva to create their work of art. 

 

Infographics were used because they are  a collection of imagery, charts, and minimal text that gives the audience easy-to-understand overview of the chosen topic.

Some students chose to produce flyers to help emphasis the importance of Mongolia as a nation.  Bree O'Reilly created an advertisement about the ancient game of horse racing using bones. The rules of the game have been provided below, students even had the opportunity to experience the game.

Ava Jarrick completed a Google presentation called Men, Women and Children in Mongolia. The presentation focused on the role that each individual played in the development of Mongolian culture and the creation of a close knit community, that once was a strong global force in the world.

Interview with Ghengis Khan

The interview retells the life of Ghengis Khan and how he conquered the world. He lived from (1162-1227) and rose from humble beginnings to establish the largest land empire in History. After uniting the nomadic tribes of the Mongolian plateau, he conquered huge areas of central Asia and China.
