Taming the Stress Monster in Adolescence

When: 16 July 2020

Time: 7.30 pm

Where: Online

Commonly known as the ‘queen of common sense’, Maggie Dent has become one of Australia’s favourite parenting authors and educators, with a particular interest in the early years, adolescence and resilience, and six major books to her name including her bestselling 2018 release Mothering Our Boys. Maggie is host of the ABC podcast, Parental As Anything.

In this webinar, Maggie explores stress and ways for adolescents to understand and help each other to navigate big ugly feelings, ‘ANT’ attacks (automatic negative thoughts), failure and disappointment. She also explores great ways to help calm and relax the adolescents you work or live with to study better, think better and take the high road rather than the low road on the journey to being an adult.

Australian Apprenticeship Pathways has written a great blog with some tips for parents to help their kids think about the pathways available to them, particularly VET. Find out more here.
