Middle Years

Welcome Back

I hope all families had a relaxing break. It is good to have everyone back at school and I am grateful that we are not all remote learning as many Melbourne students are doing. Students have settled in easily this week, and it is essential that we have a smooth start to Term 3, as we are in an ‘academic reset’ phase after only a few weeks of face to face learning. In the coming weeks I would encourage all students to touch bases with their teachers if there are any subject areas that they are concerned about. Being proactive with your learning is essential. Mentors are here to help.

MyPEC aims for Term 3:

  • to foster engagement and a positive attitude to learning.
  • Build connections. Make time
  • Build on your strengths.
  • Set a high bar for all that we do;

high standard of behaviour that shows respect

high standard for uniform

high academic effort and commitment

good organisation

Uniform reminders:

I need to stress the importance of wearing uniform with pride and the importance of students being well presented and groomed. Students are accountable and responsible for their uniform and I encourage parents to reinforce high uniform expectations

  • Blazers must be worn to and from school.
  • Girls’ skirts must be mid-calf length.
  • Long hair needs to be tied back
  • Single stud or sleeper earrings are only permitted
  • “No makeup” rule applies.
  • Ribbons are to be in the College colours – blue, yellow, maroon or white are permitted.
  • Top buttons on blue shirts are to be done up at all times.

MyPEC Covid-safe housekeeping reminders:

  • If you are unwell or have any symptoms of Covid-19, you must stay home.
  • Social distancing and hygiene protocols must be adhered to.
  • Classroom furniture has been distanced, and additional cleaning is in place.
  • Balls are cleaned at the end of lunch.
  • Face masks are encouraged on buses.
  • Lunch orders need to be placed in the box by 9.15am
  • BYO drink bottle, no sharing of food or drink bottles.
  • Parents are not permitted on site and are required to stay in their cars at pick up.
  • Students need to move around MyPEC in an orderly and considerate fashion where students can have some distance between each other as they move the MyPEC.
