Be that face to face or remotely

Welcome back to students, be that face to face or remotely, to Term 3. Understandably, many students and families remain concerned and anxious about the events in Australia and around the world with COVID-19.  I have been speaking to students throughout this time about controlling what we can control and focusing on positive self-talk in times of doubt or worry.  Encouraging others around us to keep doing the right thing is important as well, and it has been great to hear students talking in the yard, reminding their peers to socially distance or to sanitise and wash their hands regularly. I’m proud of the way our students have shown resilience and adaptability to the new ways of conducting and protecting themselves at school.

The visual below is an A-Z guide focusing on growth mindset self-talk. Students will have heard from Miss Waldron at assembly this week about the ways they can use self-talk to keep them on track, or to help them if they are feeling like they are overwhelmed with school or life in general.  I encourage parents to also model this growth mindset self-talk at home.

Teenagers “when to worry” session.  It is being delivered by Dr Michael Carr-Gregg on Wed 29th July, 7-8pm and is free.  Below is the link if you would like to register.
