Fantastic Author Visit

What a great day it was when we  welcomed author Fleur Ferris to our College last Wednesday 17 June!  Ms Ferris spoke about all aspects of her writing, including inspiration for her books drawn from life experiences while working as a police officer and paramedic, and answered questions from students during three class sessions with all Yr 8 students.  The author then worked with a group of students from Yr 7, 8 and 9 in a writing workshop that was a valuable source of inspiration and information for our young writers.

Our Yr 8 students are studying Ms Ferris’ book, Risk, which was her debut novel published by Penguin Random House in 2015.  Risk was nominated and won numerous awards, was published internationally and became an Australian Top 10 Bestseller. Her books also include Nullaboo Hullabaloo, Wreck, Black, and Found (ref. http://www.fleurferris.com/home-1).
