Maths Quest

Math Quest into Mathematical Thinking
Math Quest into Mathematical Thinking

During remote learning, your teacher will assign an activity called the "Maths Quest."  These activities are not your average maths tasks. These strange and fun maths tasks or questions are designed to get students talking and thinking about mathematical problem solving that allows for exploration into math concepts and understanding. Often these questions do not have a definitive answer, but the purpose of the task holds more value for teachers in assessing whether students can infer mathematical thinking and transfer mathematical strategies into real-world problems.

How Can You Help With The Maths Quest?

Talk, talk talk! Encourage your child to talk about their ideas (as weird and wacky as their ideas may seem), this is the most important part of the process. Bounce ideas around with them, be creative and allow them to make mistakes. Trial and error is the key to a resilient learner, a learner that is happy to take risks and make mistakes.
