Chinese Museum, Chinatown and Birrarung Marr

On the 14th of August the 3/4 classes went to the Chinese Museum and Chinatown. We learned about the Chinese migration and the Chinese culture. We learned that the Chinese dragon is 63 metres long and it takes 100 strong men when the dragon parades around Melbourne!! We also learned that the oldest building in Chinatown is 167 years old.

After we went to the Chinese Museum and Chinatown we went to a park called Birrarung Marr and played. IT WAS AWESOME!!!

On Tuesday the 14th Of August we went to Chinatown and we went exploring. We went to the Chinese Museum first and we saw a dragon. The dragon is the symbol of the boy and the phoenix is the symbol of the girl. Also, lions scare away evil spirits so lions are nice in China. IT WAS FUN☺️

Last week on Tuesday the 14th of August, all the 3/4s went on a museum excursion in Chinatown! It was really good because it connected to our inquiry and we learned about Chinese migration and all about Chinese culture. The Gold Rush was one of the most important things. My group leader’s name was Denning and he helped us to learn heaps. We saw big sculptures of Chinese animals such as the dragons, lions and unicorns. After our tour of Chinatown and the museum, we went to an exciting park called Birrarung Marr. I recommend this excursion for everyone and personally I think it was amazing! We also learned that dragons are a sign of good luck, protection and good fortune.

Hello guys! Today we will like to talk about our trip to Chinatown. In Chinatown we learned about the Chinese dragon and about why is the colour red important to them. After all that we went to explore Chinatown. We saw restaurants and Chinese guardian lions. After that we went to Birrarung Marr Park we had lots of fun!!!

Chinese Museum

The first thing that we did was go to the Chinese Immigration Museum. Then we went around Chinatown. There were people making dumplings. After that, we went inside the Chinese Museum and saw what it was like to come from China to Australia. Later, after the museum we went to Birrarung Marr. It was so much fun !!!

This excursion was the best excursion yet!

What we did was first go to Chinatown.

It was so big and fantastic. All the decorations were awesome too. What I enjoyed was seeing the old buildings from the 18th century. Seeing the old buildings taught me something, if you destroyed the buildings, you will destroy the Chinese people’s memories. In the museum what I enjoyed was when we saw a GIANT dragon and some cool weapons but something funny was that the weapons are actually flowers for the dragon. Another thing I liked was seeing the Chinese unicorn. The Chinese unicorn looked like a mixture of animals. The animals were: a body of a goat, a head of a dragon and a beard. (the beard shows who’s boss).

What I enjoyed about Chinatown was the archways. What I learned about the archways in Chinatown was that in the 18th century the children would come to the archway for good luck from the heavens. What I enjoyed was seeing the gold mines. What I liked seeing was the food they ate E.G. dry fungus. What I learned was that that it took about 60 days for the Chinese men to get from China all the way to Australia.

In Week 5, the 3/4's went to an interesting and exciting excursion to the city to the Chinese Museum. It was really interesting learning about all the Chinese traditions and the names of their medicines, costumes and jobs. My favourite part was when we did a math equation to work out how many people it took to control the 63 metre long dragon. We worked out it takes 38 people to control the dragon which is part of the annual Chinese New Year celebrations. I highly recommend going. It was a fun and exciting journey. I hope to go there again soon.

As you may know, our 3/4 classes went to the Chinese Imperial Museum. We learnt exquisite facts about not only China but about the Chinese New Year Dragon. We also learnt that red is the lucky colour for China. We had a walk in Chinatown and learnt about the cuisines that China has brought to Australia.

Last week we went to an excursion to the Chinese Museum. It was great. First we went on the Grand Tour. We learnt that in Chinese tradition dragons are male and phoenixes are female. We went downstairs and learnt about the Chinese coming to the Gold Fields looking for their fortunes and for their families. We went for a walk down Chinatown and then back to school.

We went to the Chinese Museum to learn about Chinese history. We learnt that a dragon is a male and a phoenix is a female. We went all around Chinatown. In Chinatown, all around the streets there were lanterns. Finally, we went to a park to eat lunch. I liked the excursion because we got to learn things we didn’t know and had fun with our friends.

All the 3/4 students went to the Chinese Museum. It was about how the Chinese came to Australia and what they did. Then we saw the Chinese animals like the dragon, unicorn, phoenix, lions and more. We looked around Chinatown we saw people making Chinese dumplings, we also saw the Church that Chinese people use to go on Sunday morning and we saw the oldest buildings in Chinatown. This was a amazing experience.

On Tuesday 14th of August we went to the Chinese Museum. I learned that lots of Chinese people went to the Gold Rush because they discovered there was gold buried. I also learned that they have brought their food like dumplings to Australia.

On 14th August we learnt that the dragon was 64/63m long and that the gold rush started at 1876. The Chinese boy wears clothes and they must have long hair and when someone died they must wear white clothes to show that someone died in their family and the Machine is made out of jade. Also the dynasty was rude so that the Chinese people travel over to Australia.

On Tuesday 14th of August we went to Chinatown. It was really fun we learned that the oldest tree was the Gungie tree in China. We learned that in China the Emperor can wear yellow because it means that you are rich and if you are poor you have to wear a navy kind of blue colour. And we learned that China has the biggest gold nugget! Edward Hargraves was the first person to find gold in Australia than lots of people moved to Australia as their home.

We went to the Chinese Museum we saw lots of things like the gold rush, old buildings and an earthquake machine. It was very big. We also saw a dumplings place at Chinatown. It was a very big place. I might want to go there again.
