NRMA Science & Road Safety Day

On Monday, St Joseph's students were educated on strategies that will help keep them safe on the road. Through demonstrations and information presented by a highly engaging presenter, students were able to gain more understanding on the importance of seat belts being worn correctly, ways to be a safe passenger and the correct way to exit and enter a vehicle.

Students were also educated about bike helmet design specifications and strategies to maintain and look after helmets and themselves when riding bikes, scooters, skateboards and roller skates.

Mini Vinnie's at the Fete

Wow! What a great day the Mini Vinnies had at our school fete on Saturday!

For the first time, the Mini Vinnies had their own fete stall - selling plants, magnetic fridge pegs and mosaic crosses. As people came to look, the Mini Vinnies students were able to talk to them about the work we do and the many different ways we try to help those less fortunate than ourselves.

Our stall was such a huge success and we were able to raise $301.90!! I know this amount of money will go a long way to helping someone in our local community who may be finding life a bit tough at the moment so thank you all so very much for supporting our stall.

A special thank you to the hard working Mini Vinnies students who spent many lunchtimes making items to sell, making posters and manning the stall on the day.

Thank you to Sam Erle and his mum for creating the beautiful plants - they were so popular!

You really are stewards of your faith and I'm so proud to work alongside you at Mini Vinnies each week.
