Years 5/6 Campaspe Swimming Carnival
On Friday 22nd February, a group of sixteen Years 5 and 6 students travelled to Echuca for the Campaspe Primary Swimming Carnival. Students displayed a great level of sportsmanship and camaraderie throughout the day whilst competing in various events. Students' hard work and determination contributed to St Augustine’s finishing third overall.
Students who represented the school include Sarah Exton, Breanna Belli, Alex Barnes, Max Carroll, Lachlan Carver, Rose Cunningham, Jack Donaldson, Hunter Fawcett, Scarlett Freeman, Charlotte Grealy, Charlie Isaac, Thomas McGlade, Dylan Priest, Isabella Sefton, Abbey
Shortis and Hanna Taylor.
On 25th February, a group of swimmers who qualified at St Augustine's swimming sports participated at the Campaspe Secondary Swimming Carnival in Echuca. It was a great day out and we had a few winners throughout the day.
A big congratulations to Hunter Glover and Harry Shortis on winning the 16 years age champions titles. They, along with Oskar Shortis, will have the opportunity to participate at the Loddon Mallee finals in Swan Hill on 21st March.
We would like to thank the teachers who helped us and congratulate everyone who participated.
Tom Bruhn (Year 9)
Harry Shortis (Year 10) broke three individual records at the Campaspe Secondary Swimming Carnival. He set new records in the open 400m freestyle, open 100m freestyle and 16 years 50m freestyle events!
Congratulations Harry, this is a tremendous effort!
On Thursday 28th February, eleven Years 5/6 students made their way to Moama to compete in a lawn bowls competition. When we arrived at Moama we couldn't believe how good the facilities were! It was very hot, but we were lucky enough to play under the shelter for all our games. Out of all our matches we were able to come away with a few wins! Although we didn't make the Grand Final, we had a fantastic day playing lawn bowls and playing against other schools in our region. A special thank you to Bill Hatzie for helping out on the day.
