A Message from the Principal

Mrs Pauline Long

Dear Parents and Carers,

3 Way Learning Conference (Parent, Student & Teacher)

This week is your opportunity to book a timeslot to meet with your child’s teacher, so together with your child you can view work samples and create learning goals.  These interviews will be held over a two week period commencing next Monday 14th March.  As a school we value the partnership we have with our families and know that the interest you show helps boost your child’s success at school.

Please follow these instructions to book your interview time with your child's teacher:

  • From the Compass homepage click the hamburger menu button at the top left (three horizontal bars) and then select 'Conferences'.
  • To start the booking process click on the 2022 Term 1, 3 way conference option.
  • Once you've selected the cycle you will first be shown a popup which contains information from the school. Read the message and click 'Okay' at the bottom to continue.
  • Select your student to proceed with booking.
  • Select your child's teacher from the Right Hand Side of the screen.
  • To book in just click an available (white) timeslot.
  • This will open a booking popup for you to confirm.
  • Confirm booking

Bookings are made more easily from a device other than a phone.  If you are having trouble making a booking, please call Kate in the front office and she will make the booking for you.

Please note our teachers are also available to meet with you if you are concerned about your child’s progress or if you have family news to share, at any time during the year. Please contact your child’s teacher via email between 8.00am-5.00pm.

School Policies

As mentioned in last week’s newsletter I will be outlining a few important School Policies over the next few weeks. We strive to provide the best possible education for your child and we value the partnership between home and school. If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s education  I encourage you to have a meeting with your child’s teacher. Small issues do not become large issues if we work together in a timely manner. The best way to set up a meeting is to email  your child’s teacher.

If you have a matter which you wish to discuss with me please phone the front office and Kate Thompson will book an interview time. Sometimes you might not have a complaint but a suggestion to make our school even better. I am open to listen to your ideas. As Principal, I follow the recommendations from the Catholic Schools Office if a complaint is made to the school. The Diocesan Policies and Guides for making a complaint can be accessed on our school website: St Joseph's School Quirindi

Remember together we can achieve great things!

The final shipment of RAT kits has arrived this week. You can collect your RAT tests tomorrow, Wednesday the 9th of March between 8:00am and 3:30pm. Students no longer need to test twice a week; these supplies are to be used if your child develops symptoms. Thank you for your continued support with COVID protocols.
