Prep 

WOW! What a fabulous fortnight of learning we have had in Prep. The students have done such an amazing job in tackling 2 full weeks of school. We are so proud of how resilient they have all been in getting through what has been a very busy 2 weeks. 

READING:

Reading this week entailed a lot of sounds and letters. We were able to consolidate our knowledge of the group 1 letters and sounds on Jolly Phonics. These included s, a, t, i, p, n. The students love listening to the songs associated with each letter and have enjoyed practising the sounds with the dance moves. 

MATHS:

In maths we have been learning all about numbers! We are now able to count from 1 - 5 confidently and can show the value of these numbers in many different ways. Some of our favourite ways to demonstrate our number knowledge include:

• Ten Frames
• Fingers
• Pictures
• Dice
• Dominos

We can’t wait to grow our number knowledge and start counting to 10 and beyond! 

BUDDIES:

We got to meet our year 5 and 6 buddies this week. Each prep student was buddied up with a senior school student to be their mentor, friend and helper. It was lovely to see the different year levels getting along, being open-minded and sharing experiences in drawing a picture together. We will be catching up with our buddies every second Wednesday so be sure to ask your child what they did with their buddy!
