DISTRICT SWIMMING CARNIVAL

25 of our swimming stars represented our school at the District carnival last Friday. They trained for their events and tried their hardest to achieve personal bests. Congratulations to all students for participating and representing CPS. A big thank you to Mr Pollard, Ms Remfry and Ms Kennedy for accompanying the students on the day.

COVID UPDATE

Last week we sent home the third release of Rapid Antigen Tests. The State Government had announced that school would continue to send Rapid Tests home for our students for the rest of term 1. We appreciate those of you who have continued this process. Thank you to those families who have recorded a positive result and then contacted the school, following all recommended practices.

Staff, visitors and students in years 3-6 in primary schools are still required to wear masks when inside our buildings.

A reminder that your child should bring their own clean/new mask to school each day. We are finding many used masks discarded on the playground and our whole school supplies are finite. Thank you for supporting us with this!

Thank you also to families for keeping children at home when they show covid symptoms such as runny noses, sore throats and headaches. You are helping to protect our community from the variety of other bugs and viruses that are circulating as well!

RAISING KIDS IN A DIGITAL WORLD

This is a reminder for those of you who have not already booked into the free session for the webinar to be held next Thursday, 10th March. Bookings are still available! The session is entitled Raising Kids in a Digital World and is particularly relevant, given our children have all been on screens for so much of the past two years. There is no charge for CPS parents/carers to attend these sessions. The registration link for the webinar is below:www.bit.ly/10march2022. Once you register (with an email address and name), you will be emailed a link to the webinar. You will also receive a reminder email on the afternoon of the webinar as well as 15min before start time. The following day, you will receive a link to access the replay. Therefore, we recommend even if you are unable to attend the live webinar, register to ensure you can access the replay.

We attended the webinar last week focused on supporting conversations about current events in the media and found it both informative and engaging. We will certainly be tuning in ourselves, to more of their presentations.
