Message from the College Principal

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Only four weeks left in the term, but lots to get through and many wonderful events to celebrate and be part of.

A couple of key dates to keep note of:

  • On Thursday 29 November, we have our Family Health Information Night. This is an annual event where we invite our community to engage in sports and activities to promote physical health and share information about healthy eating and lifestyles.
  • In week 10, we welcome our new Year 7 students on the state wide transition day. This is an exciting day for students moving in to the secondary years of education, as they get to meet some of their teachers and get a glimpse of what 2019 will bring. On the same day, our Year 9 students will spend the day at their chosen Senior School learning about their new educational setting and the expectations and responsibilities of moving into Year 10.
  • We have our Prep, Year 6 and Year 9 Graduation ceremonies on Thursday 13 December. A note will go home to families next week regarding arrangements for these events. We are looking forward to celebrating this important milestone and recognising the hard work our students have put in throughout the year.

If you have been in our school grounds between 8:45 and 8:50 you would have noticed a change in the music at the start of the day. Mr Linden one of our Performing Arts teachers has been working with our students to select a range of music that represents our wonderful multicultural community. Our students have loved hearing music from their cultures being played and have begun approaching Mr Linden with suggestions. We are very proud to work in such an inclusive and culturally rich environment and hope you are enjoying hearing the songs as much as we are.

As you would have noticed, we have a new online format for our Beacon. This structure includes all the same features of our previous newsletter, however, is easier to access and navigate using mobile tablets and other technology. If you have any feedback around our new format, please don’t hesitate to let us know.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Kind Regards

Rynn Anderson
