Term 3 Update

It has been a very busy term for Table Tennis at Girton Grammar School. In week four of term three, our Junior Boys and Girls won three out of the four Sandhurst Competitions in Years Seven and Eight.

In week 5 our Senior Boys and Girls teams have progressed through Sandhurst and Regional finals went to the State finals in Melbourne. The Boys team of Isaac Green, Xavier Green, Ethan Shepherd and Hugo Begg played some excellent table tennis to reach the Semi-Finals finishing equal third in the State. The Senior Girls Team of Arunika Madina, Abbey Saxon, Kate Douglas and Jemimah Suh also played exceptionally well in reaching the Semi-Finals also finishing equal third.

Last week our intermediate Boys and Girls Teams played in the Sandhurst Competition.

Our Girls team of Annaliese Broom, Rena Nichol, Seyeon Ko and Charlie-Ann SoFo were convincing winners in every match they played, winning the Year 9/10 Division.

The Intermediate Boys team of Aidan Clemens, Lasith Kulasekara, Lachlan Woodward and Isaac Willits played exceptionally well in not only winning their division but also convincingly beating a very good BSE team in the final.

This year we entered all eight divisions in the Sandhurst Table Tennis Competition, winning seven and coming second in the other. This is an exceptional achievement considering there are 9 schools competing.

We would like to thank our coach, Mr Paul Green for his excellent coaching and enthusiasm.
