From Our Students

YEAR 4 POETRY

In Year 4, students have been exploring and writing different types of poetry.

These beautiful pieces were written by Thomas and Matilda.

GREEN

Green is the trees around me

and the grass under the trees.

It is a peacock in a field.

Why is it there?

Green is the colour of a snake

and the bushes where it is hiding.

Green means my favourite shorts

and the apple I love to eat.

It is the cactus in the desert,

the plants in my garden and flowers in the park.

Green is a calm colour

and it makes me feel normal.

BLUE

Blue is the ocean waves

and diamonds shimmering in the sunlight.

It is a butterfly flying through the clouds.

What is it doing?

Blue is a flower in my garden

and the sky is beautiful.

Blue means the T shirt that I love

and pants that are shimmering.

It is a blue crayon that has memories

and blueberries that are sweet like honey.

Blue is like being upset like wet tears

and joyful is the colour of blue.
