Music

End of Term 3

It’s hard to realise we are at the end of Term 3 already. While we faced several disappointments as one event after the other was cancelled, students have realised they are primarily responsible for their own progress on an instrument and have made the most of the time to improve their skills. Some found their instrument a good diversion from everything else going on around them. For me it has been great to see cheery faces on my screen each day. We are all looking forward to next term and hope that things open up and enable us to get out and perform.

Video Concert

Our next big event will be a streamed video concert. All the music students have been asked to video themselves performing a piece and submit it. These videos will be strung together in a concert which will be streamed out to the school community. The students have all been working hard to prepare these videos and have been asked to have them in as soon as possible but definitely by the end of the holidays.

Details of this concert will be published next term so watch this space!

Lockdown/Holiday Listening

One good way to make ourselves feel good while in lockdown or on holiday, is to listen to music. The instrumental music teachers were all asked to tell us what piece/s they go to which make them feel good. Check out what they have said and see what you think. It’s always good to open our ears to something new and it’s exciting to find some new musical genre to explore.
