News from the hub

We have been really impressed by our awesome Year 7’s and how well they have engaged with remote learning again this term. It is great to see resilience in action.

Parent Teacher Conferences this week are a good chance for those who have booked to catch up with teachers and hear about progress.

The holidays will be a chance to recharge and get off screens. We hope that all of our Year 7’s and families have a great break and come back in Term 4 refreshed.

Please keep your eyes on Facebook and Compass for any news about Term 4.

Literacy

During literature groups, some 7N and 7A students have been reading ‘Hatchet’ by Gary Paulsen. The novel is about a boy who survives a plane crash in the Canadian wilderness. Students either used Roblox to create the setting of the novel, or built their own shelters in their yards.

GippSport

Last week, 7N had a session with Brydie from GippSport and competed in a ‘Minute to Win it’ competition. The aim was to roll a coin and land it in the prongs of a fork. It was a lot more challenging than it sounds, but it was definitely a fun start to the lesson. We are looking forward to what Brydie has in store for us this week.
