Music - Mr Gooding

The senior school

The senior school students have been taking a deep dive into the world of texture, learning how to express their thoughts and explain the music they are listening to. Students have chosen music they enjoy and broke it down into three sections, the beginning, middle and end. Students then describe each section and explain what is happening in the music and why they think it sounds that way. Through remote learning the senior school students have also been finishing their Soundscape, below are a few examples of the finished products.

The middle school

Through remote learning, middle school students have been exploring the elements of music and learning how to compose and create melodies using these elements. Students first explored the element of texture,  learning how different instruments interact to create sound. Students then explored aspects of melody and how we can use different techniques to create and manipulate sounds.

The junior school

Over the past few weeks the junior school have been exploring the elements of music, taking a deep dive into the world of Melody. During remote learning students have been composing and creating their very own musical compositions.  Students have been using the musical software Google's Chrome music lab to help them compose and explore these elements of melody. Below are a couple of examples of the amazing work produced by some of our students
