Assistant Principal's Message
Week 10 Term 3
What a term!
Our students are be praised for the effort and commitment they have displayed towards continuing their learning remotely this term! Our staff have done a brilliant job creating rich tasks and engaging with our students online. We know there has been disappointment regarding missing planned events...but there have been highlights enjoyed too.
Thank you to all families who attend the online disco hosted by DJ Sam I Am (from the Cyber Safety Project). Thank you for the positive feedback we received, it was appreciated.
I also have to applaud our 3/4 staff - the online virtual camp that was delivered was nothing short of outstanding. What incredibly innovative and talented staff we have!
Education Sub Committee
We are continually reviewing and improving our school policies. This term a new policy was developed - Communication with School Staff. The policy was suggested to help improve understanding regarding how to communicate with staff within the school. The Education Sub Committee hopes this policy will provide families with clear, transparent guidelines regarding how to contact various staff members. You can access the policy by clicking on the link above or from our website.
Child Safe - Cyber Safety Awareness
Remote Learning has meant that our young people are spending more time on their devices and online than normal. Our normal school protocols regarding use of technology still applies while the students are engaging with learning at home during online sessions and completing learning tasks. Parents can support their children by being aware of online conversations. We have been working with students to empower them to have a voice and be proactive if they are feeling uncomfortable in conversations with their peers.
The eSafety Commissioner is committed to supporting parents to explore current research and to provide ways to help children develop skills to be safer online. Current webinars on offer are;
