Semester 2 Exams and Important Dates
As we come to the conclusion of the Term, please find below important information regarding examinations and other important dates.
St James College Semester Two Exams
As indicated in the St James College Calendar, the St James College Examination period, for Years 7, 8 & 9 will be held between Wednesday 27 November and Wednesday 4 December. Year 10 Exams will commence on Monday 18 November.
It is St James College Policy that Examinations cannot be sat at times other than those published on the Examination Timetable.
Exams will be offered for the subjects of English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities, Years 9 and 10 Religion, and Year 9 & 10 Indonesian, Year 10 Body Systems, Sports Coaching and Music. Other subjects have on-going assessment by assignment and topic tests.
Students in Year 7, 8 and 9
Students in Years 7, 8 & 9 will have full school days during the examination period, beginning at the usual time of 8.40 am and finishing at 3.15pm. Students are required to wear full school uniform each day. Exams will be held during normal class periods as indicated. Regular teaching and revision will continue at other times.
Please Note: Monday 2 December, there will be no classes for students in all year levels. Staff will be involved in a correction and report writing day.
Students in Year 10
Year 10 students need only attend for their exams as scheduled, apart from Monday 18 November, which is a full school day. The Library is available for students to utilise for private study during exam week. Year 10 students are required to wear full school uniform for their exams and/or study at school in the Library, ie: when they are attending St James College.
Important Dates
Other important dates are as follows:
Thursday 5th December – Final Day for Years 7, 8 & 9 students with Closing Mass and Awards at 10.00 am at St Peter’s Parish Church, East Bentleigh. Students will be dismissed for the Christmas Holidays, from the College, at 1:00pm.
The Year 10 Graduation Mass and Dinner will commence at 6.00 pm at St. Peter’s Church.
