In the Art Room

Week 6

Foundation Making Their Mark.

Foundation students have not held back experimenting with various tools to scrape, smear and skim acrylic paint colours to make some very interesting textures on their paper. The discovery of new blends of colours and paint patterns made for a lively learning atmosphere with lots of creative mess making!

Yayoi Kusama Pumpkins

Paint and colour experimentation has continued with Grade 3 and 4 students playing with Complementary Colours to paint their artworks inspired by Yayoi Kusama's Pumpkins. Complementary Colours are those found on opposite sides of the colour wheel and are especially dynamic together since they enhance the intensity of the other.

Personalised Paint Palettes

Grade 5 and 6 artists have begun to use their hand made watercolour sets. The palettes have been made by each student to personalise their colour mixing needs. Some students have even made little water pots as well as their tiny little paint cups. Take a look at the photos below of the the artists at work and some of their finished pieces.

Look forward to sharing more from the Art Room in the next newsletter.
