Learning and Teaching

ST. JOSEPH’S STAFF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

At St. Joseph's we have a wonderful team of teachers. They continue to lead by example for our students and show them the value of Learning and Teamwork. The staff have been working productively in Professional Learning Teams to enable rich learning. Our teachers have engaged in making explicit elements of high-quality, effective teaching in 21st century schools that will improve educational outcomes for our students.

They approach their work with professionalism and positivity.

Last Friday Monica and I attended a professional learning day at St. Jude’s Langwarrin. Karen Anderson, from Balnarring Preschool spoke about her wonderful nature based beach and kinder program, which has won many awards for excellence in embedding First Peoples’ perspectives. We expressed our school’s interest in participating in the Bundjil Nest Project and Wominjeka Festival next year.  We purchased two books written by Dr Carolyn Briggs AMm, Boon Wurrung and Balnarring kindergarten students who contributed to the images.
