Years 8 and 9 Study Skills - Digital Organisation
On Monday 15 August, students in Years 8 and 9 are invited to attend a digital organisation study skills workshop. They will be given guidance about managing their electronic documents, how to send emails and how to use SEQTA and OneNote more effectively. For the remainder of the session, they will have the opportunity to practice their study skills learned, or to complete homework.
The session will take place from 3:30pm-4:30pm in the library. Afternoon tea will be provided.
This session is the second in a series of after-school workshops tackling organisation and study skills, aimed at complementing the existing wellbeing program. Due to the large number of participants in the last session, we will be limiting the session to 30 students. This will allow us to provide direct assistance to the students attending. If students are unable to attend next week, or there are no spaces left, the session will be repeated later in the year. To book onto this free session here: www.trybooking.com/937801

Ward House Week
A wonderful celebration of all things Ward this past week. Homeroom Staff joined to deliver our House prayer Monday morning to all staff. Preparations from students began last week with our Ward Year 11’s sharing a ‘Just Dance’ link for Homeroom’s to work on, in the hope of delivering a flash mob performance to surprise the College community.
The week culminated with Ward House Day on Thursday where we all gathered in the gym for Homeroom to have our final practice run before performing our flash mob at recess in the pavilion. The throng of onlookers gathered in anticipation of the spectacle and Ward House delivered a great show to the tune of One Directions’ hit 'You don’t know you’re beautiful'. House assemblies were next and we were able to celebrate our Spirit Award winning efforts from the Interhouse Athletics Carnival two weeks prior, along with acknowledging individual efforts on the day. Our Year 12 representatives performed a rap to tell the story of Mary Ward which all found to be very entertaining. Pizzas for lunch on the chapel lawn bathed in sunshine, while listening to student band Static Marsh was a highlight. To finish off the day, Shop Front cooking with Mindy Toleman and Mei for the needy saw volunteers from Year 11 and 12 assist to provide a very tasty chicken cacciatore. To round out the week, our Homeroom leaders assisted with Community Mass on Friday morning, presenting the Ward House banner and delivering readings of wisdom. Thank you to all Wardees and assistants for helping to make this week an enjoyable celebration of our Venerable Mary Ward, founder of the Loreto to Sisters.
