In English we have been making our own picture story books. I wrote a story about two lonely people who each wanted a friend. Now I am working on the front cover of my book. I have enjoyed creating my own story and developing this into a book. By Evie
This is my illustration to my Grammar in Context sentence. I decided to write it in a circle and then put my illustration inside because it looks like it was in a water bubble. I enjoyed planning and trying out different ideas. By Gabriella

We have also looked into units of measurement. We really enjoyed measuring our standing long jumps and then using the different measurements to make up our own algorithms. It was a great activity to revise and practise adding and subtracting decimal numbers.
Wellbeing
During our morning prayer time we are practising gratitude and we also go around the circle and give the person next to us a compliment. This makes them feel good about themselves and we all feel connected and part of the team.

Hooptime
Last Tuesday the Year 4s headed off to MSAC to take part in Hooptime. The day is a celebration of basketball and we spent all day taking part in games against other schools in the Holt District. We really enjoyed spending the day together and improving our basketball and teamwork skills. It was great to develop some strategies to improve our performances as the day went on. By the last game our defensive pressure and rebounding skills were impressive! Our Future Stars team made it through to the final! By Liam
St Mary’s College- Stem Challenge
On Tuesday, some Year 7 students from St Mary’s College came to visit our school. We had lots of fun creating parachutes to slow down gravity. We had to protect an egg from cracking and we tested the vessel by dropping them from the stairs. Afterwards we had a chance to ask some questions about high school. We learnt what high school was about and how it works. It was really fun. They also stayed at lunchtime to teach us to play chess. A big thank you to their teachers and the students. By Archie
My favourite part of the St. Mary’s STEM challenge incursion was making the parachutes to protect the egg. My group had a lot of fun figuring out ways to do this. We used heaps of different materials such as a cup, toilet paper and rubbish bags to design a solution. We were successful, the egg survived!
Sherelle and I loved finding out more about how to play chess in the lunchtime session. I am a beginner but I won! By Zara D
