On the 26th of July, the school captains from both campuses went to the Children's Advisory Group meeting. The captains from several schools in our local district have been asked to assist in planning the Children’s Festival which will happen in October this year. We discussed the theme and events for the Children's Festival and voted for promotional banner designs. We also voted for invitation designs, catering and food, how the room will be set up and assigned some jobs for the day. Then, we had a team building activity which led to a beach ball tap game. Afterwards we had our morning tea. Scones and fruits! Moreover, after we had finished the meeting, we were generously gifted 4 boxes of At Home Gallery. These boxes contained many fun activities about art! One is about painting, colouring and drawing.
Recently, the FLC also had their 100 days of SCHOOL! Everyone celebrated this by wearing custom-made accessories to show off their academic achievements over the 100 days of school. All the FLC students were having so much fun! We are so thankful for all the parents that came along to celebrate with their children. One of the activities they did was making glasses but instead of normal ones they had 100 spelt all over them. Can’t wait to see them grow!
On Friday the 4th of August it’s a special day to celebrate the work and dedication of our principals. The SLC students are making poems for our beloved Mrs Cottier. Our other members of the principal team: Mrs Stubbings and Mrs Karup who have both been working as Acting Assistant Principals for some of this year, and of course, Miss Jamar our regular Assistant Principal, will also be celebrated on the day with some special gifts from students from other parts of the school. Great job on everything Springvale Rise, let's hope the principals love it! Happy Principal's Day!
For the SLC, next week, students will be diving into swimming. Everyone is getting their goggles, bathers and undies prepared. We will be swimming for 8 days at the Noble Park Aquatic Centre. Everyone is excited and ready to cause a splash! On the 8th day, there might be a chance to go to the gigantic water playground! Let’s learn a lot about swimming and have FUN!
