Italian Studies for Senior School Students in 2024

With Course Counselling and selection around the corner, I’d like to take the opportunity to inform and/or remind families why we believe students should continue with the study of a language, particularly Italian.

Some of the benefits of continuing to study a language are as follows.

Increases job opportunities, especially in the fields of business, finance, travel, fashion, journalism, and hospitality
Stronger analytical ability and improved cognitive skills
And, once you have grasped a second language, a third or fourth is even easier to learn
Extra marks! Depending on your ‘raw score’ result at the end of year 12, languages are scaled up by a certain number of points

Here at EDSC, we have a proud strong history of achieving excellent VCE results, with high average study scores and even some perfect results of 50! We even have past students that have received State Premier Awards for excellence in Italian!
