BOOK WEEK 2023
Library
This Week is Book Week! Book Week is an integral part of Lalor Secondary College's Literacy and English programs. Book Week is a time to celebrate the reading culture at Lalor Secondary, and to celebrate our students English and Literacy skills and imaginations. There will be different activities for students in celebration, to access within the Library during lunchtimes across the week.
Book Week Events during each lunchtime:
The Book Week Dress Up Day & Competition is on Thursday the 24th of August. Students and staff are not only encouraged to participate but are eligible to win prizes on the day. You can dress as groups, or individually. The choice is all yours! It will be amazing to see what people come up with.
PREMIERS READING CHALLEGE - UPDATE
It has been wonderful to see our students dedicating their time to read each week and have set their goal to finish the challenges within reading sessions. Lalor Secondary students have been really focusing on their reading during class time this year, with over 600 books already entered onto the challenge website. We have also had a few students who have already completed the challenge since its beginning of March.
Students who complete the challenge will receive a certificate from our Premier, as well as house points. Students who excel in their dedication to reading will be in the running for bronze, silver and gold prizes for the most books read within their sub-school.
Just a reminder to all students that the Premiers' Reading Challenge ends on the 8th of September 2023. All Year 7 and Year 8 students are to be reminded that all books read, are to be uploaded on the Premiers' Reading Challenge website before this date. This is to ensure they are completing their challenge, and are in the running for some prizes. Well done, Lalor! Keep up the amazing reading! 🤩
