Dear Parents and Carers,
Morning Routine
We had a great start to Term Three last week. The new morning routine has worked well and I appreciate your support with this change.
A reminder to all parents that the gates will open at 8:30am, however, the students or parents cannot enter the learning spaces until 8:45am. Students must remain in the yard (no ball games or playing of the playground equipment in the morning or afterschool).
In the case of rain or very inclement weather, the students will be escorted into the learning spaces as soon as they arrive at school.
Details for Edwina Moulin's Funeral
Edwina's funeral will be held at St Fidelis Church, on Tuesday July 18th at 3:00pm. Please note, due to the funeral, there will be no space in the church car park for after school pick up on this day. Please arrange to pick up your child at another location on this day.
Long Service Leave
I will be on leave from Monday 24th July and returning on Monday 14th August. This leave has come about due to my daughter's selection to represent Australia in this year's Netball World Cup in Cape Town, South Africa.
At the end of the term, I will also be attending the Northern Region Principals conference in Tasmania, where we continue our Professional Learning about the Pope's encyclical Laudato Si' (On Care For Our Common Home).
Vira Pirotta will be acting Principal. Annette Gasbarro will be acting Deputy Principal supported by Sally Lentini member of our school Leadership Team. I thank them for their willingness to take on this responsibility during leave.
Hawthorn Street Sandpit
Thank you to Chris Archibald and Nathan for replacing the sand in the Hawthorn Yard with fresh white sand. It was a mammoth job and will be very much appreciated by the children.
We will be scheduling a Spring Clean Working Bee at the end of Term where we will replace the sand in Saunders Yard and complete lots of other little jobs around the school. The Date will be confirmed soon.
School Advisory Board Meeting
The School Advisory Board will meet this Tuesday July 18th at 7:00pm in the staffroom.
