Dear CJC community,

Welcome to term 4

We have commenced term 4 in a smooth and orderly manner. This reflects positively on the manner in which our children have returned from their holidays and the enormous amount of work undertaken by our staff to prepare for this last term of the school year.

Year 5 and 6 camp

We watched the video montage from camp Marysville at the whole school assembly, it was such a pleasure to see how much fun everyone had, and the challenges that were overcome. Thank you to everyone who was involved in the project. 

Year 6 and graduation

Graduation will take place on December 15th.  Our team is working on the details and activities for the celebration. We will keep you posted, but please save the date!

Yesterday our year 6 students had their graduation photos taken in readiness for their upcoming formal ceremony. We look forward to sharing this special occasion with students and their families at this important school celebration.

Our Year 6 students have all been offered places for their 2023 secondary school placements.

New arrival time at 8.50 am

A reminder to families that we are expecting to see children arrive for school at 8.50 am and go straight to class and prepare for their school day. New workplace arrangements are now in place for staff and we need to adjust arrival times to manage these effectively. It is a legal requirement that a parent/carer is signing their child in at the office if they are late. We ask that parents wait to see if they need to come to sign their child in if they are dropping them off close to the bell time.

BYODD 

The BYODD Information Session for our year 2 parents was held this week. This important program commences each year as students transition from year 2 into year 3. Families will have been sent the details and information from the session and we encourage them to forward any questions they may have to our team who is involved in organising, supporting, and delivering this initiative.

Yom Kippur

Many families and members of the local and wider Jewish communities have been celebrating Yom Kippur. Yom Kippur is also known as the Day of Atonement and is considered the most important holiday in the Jewish faith. Yom Kippur marks the culmination of the 10 Days of Awe, a period of personal introspection and repentance that follows Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year.

Great to see so many children wearing their hats at school. Well done.

Victorian VCE students

The school year for Victorian VCE students has now reached the final examinations and assessments stage across all subject areas. To our families, students and teachers within the CJC community I would like to extend my best wishes and trust that all your endeavours and work undertaken over this year will allow you the opportunity to do your very best. Well done and good luck.

Back from leave

Returning to school this week was a great experience for me. Having been away on leave and visiting our son overseas was a great adventure, very reassuring and comforting to see him and know that he is okay, in good health and that there was food in the fridge. Arriving back to school and seeing all was in order and that so much had been achieved was as I would have expected. Thanks to everyone involved and to the leaders of the school I would like to thank you and acknowledge your great work.

Martin Juillard

We had the pleasure to welcome Martin Juillard at CJC on Thursday morning for a morning tea with the staff. Martin is our new Consul General of France in Sydney.  Mme Boisbouvier-Wylie, Honorary Consule of France in Melbourne, Mr Chang, President of the School Council, Mme Ammadou, President of the EFM were also in attendance.  We wish him a warm welcome to Australia and within our Australian-French community.

Bienvenue au 4e trimestre

Le nouveau trimestre a démarré dans le calme et la bienveillance, ce qui inspire les enfants à prendre une attitude positive alors qu’ils reprennent la routine après les vacances. Les professeurs ont travaillé d’arrache-pied pour préparer ce dernier trimestre de l’année.

Classe verte des CM2 et 6ème

Nous avons visionné la vidéo souvenir du camp de Marysville lors de l’assemblée lundi dernier.  Quel plaisir de voir que tous les participants se sont bien amusés et que tous les défis ont été relevés. Un grand merci à toute l’équipe ! 

Célébrations de fin d’année pour les élèves de 6ème

La date des célébrations est fixée au 15 décembre.  Notre équipe finalise en ce moment les détails des activités qui auront lieu.  Nous vous donnerons plus d’information très bientôt, mais réservez déjà la date !

Les photos des élèves de 6ème pour l’album souvenir ont été prises hier. Nous avons hâte de célébrer cet évènement spécial avec les élèves et leur famille.

Nouvelle heure d’arrivée à l’école

Nous souhaitons vous rappeler que nous attendons les élèves à l’école à 8h50 le matin, et qu’ils doivent se rendre directement à leur salle de classe pour se préparer pour leur journée d’apprentissage. Nous avons dû faire des ajustements pour respecter la nouvelle convention des employés des écoles. Vous devez légalement enregistrer vos enfants au kiosque du secrétariat s’ils arrivent à l’école en retard. Nous demandons aux parents d’attendre pour savoir s’ils doivent venir les enregistrer quand l’heure d’arrivée est très proche de 9h. 

BYODD (Apporter son propre appareil électronique)

La session d’information pour les parents des élèves de CE1 a eu lieu cette semaine. Il s’agit d’un programme important pour les élèves qui font la transition entre le CE1 et le CE2. Tous les renseignements de la session ont été envoyés aux familles et nous vous encourageons à vous adresser à l’équipe en charge du projet si vous avez des questions.

Yom Kippour

Plusieurs familles et membres de la communauté locale et de la communauté juive ont célébré Yom Kippur cette semaine. La célébration est aussi connue sous le nom du Jour du Grand Pardon, c’est la journée la plus importante du calendrier juif. Yom Kippour marque la fin d’une période pénitentielle de 10 jours qui suit le nouvel an juif, Roch Hachana. 

Sécurité au soleil

Je suis ravi de voir que la plupart des élèves portent leur chapeau de protection solaire à l’école. Merci !

Les examens de fin d’études secondaires

L’année scolaire se termine pour les élèves en fin d’études secondaires.  La période des examens finaux débutera pour l’évaluation de toutes les matières scolaires. À nos familles, élèves et professeurs de la communauté, nous vous souhaitons bon succès et félicitations pour tout le travail et les efforts que vous avez faits tout au long de l’année qui vous permettront de faire de votre mieux. Bravo et bonne chance.

Retour de vacances

Mon retour à l’école cette semaine fut une belle expérience.  Nous avons eu plusieurs semaines à l’étranger ou nous avons visité mon fils, ce fut une grande aventure.  Nous avons pu constater qu’il se porte très bien et qu’il y a de la nourriture dans son frigo, ce qui est très rassurant ! Tel qu’anticipé pour mon retour à l’école, j’ai pu voir que tout s’est bien déroulé. Merci à tous et particulièrement à l’équipe de direction pour cet excellent travail.

Martin Juillard

Nous avons eu le plaisir d’accueillir Martin Juillard at CJC pour partager un goûter avec le personnel de l’école.  Martin est le nouveau Consul Général de France à Sydney. Mme Boisbouvier-Wylie, Consule Honoraire de France à Melbourne, Mr Chang, Président du comité de gestion d’école, Mme Ammadou, Présidente de l’EFM sont également venus pour l’occasion.  Nous lui souhaitons la bienvenue en Australie, et au sein de la communauté française en Australie.
