Music Update 

Interesting music fact:   Learning in the context of a music ensemble often leads to a greater desire for academic responsibility and performance that enhances reading achievement.

PAC Music performs at Mornington Market

PAC Specialist and Generalist Music students will be busking at Mornington Market on Wednesday November 2nd to raise money for the Australian Children's Music Foundation. Students will be performing from 10.30am - 1.30 and would love to see some familiar faces if you can make it!

EMC Music Festival - Save the date!

This year EMC will be holding a Music Festival on Thursday the 24th November. All of the instrumental music students will be performing with their ensemble as well as some smaller groups of students. We are also looking for some parents to help with running a BBQ during the event. If you are interested in helping with the BBQ please contact Catherine Simmonds: catherine.simmonds@education.vic.gov.au

VCE Music Performance Soiree

In preparation for their external performance exam, all of the VCE Music Performance students presented their entire repertoire of pieces at the Soiree at the end of term 3. It was a wonderful opportunity to share the work that the students had put into preparing for their exam. Each student presented up to 25 minutes of music and the high calibre of performances really demonstrated how much effort the students have put into preparing for their external exam. A big thank you to all of the teachers that helped out with running the event or attending the evening.

Marimba Fundraising Event:

This was launched in the Mid-Year Music Concert. The Music Department is planning to raise $5000 to cover the cost of one of these instruments. If you would like to contribute to the Marimba Fundraiser please contact the front office. Families who donate $100 will have one of the Marimba keys named for them.
