Women of the future reflection:

On Friday the 21st of October, the year 7 girls participated in the Women Of The Future Event. It was a really great way to end the week and give us a break from our regular school day. We had the principle from Toorak college come in and give us a short presentation on equal pay and women's rights. Some of the activities we did included yoga, pilates, vision board, art and we even had an incursion with two dietitians to learn about our health, mindful eating and how a balance is good in a diet. Yoga was in the tennis centre with Miss Hill and Miss Harris, after doing some yoga we also did meditation. It was very relaxing. Pilates was above the auditorium with Miss Cook, where we did lots of sketches and exercises. The vision board activity was in the senior centre with Miss Grinsted where we made our own vision boards out of magazines about our future. Art was in the art room where we traced a member of our group and added empowering words around the picture. Well that's a wrap from Gracie and Tehya, we feel like this day was a really great way to boost ourselves, and a great way to meet new people and show our team work and what ‘women of our future’ are capable of.

The Man Cave Reflection

On Friday the 21st of October, the year 7 boys had an incursion with The Man Cave. The Man Cave is a group of Men that go around to different schools and talk about mental health. The day started off with the boys going into 3 group; group A, B and C. I was in group C. After we went in our groups, we went straight into a classroom and the Man Cave people shared their stories in front of the whole room. To get the mood up we played a game of ‘Would you Rather’. Then we had snack. Straight after snack we went back into the room, and we did an exercise called Checking in. It was where you just said how you are going or say something to get it off your chest. We did this until lunch time. We came in from lunch and it was a fun rest of the day. We did some shout outs to the people that shared and the people that answered answers. By the time we finished this, we had 10 minutes until the bell. For the rest of the session we just talked to a couple mates.

It was an awesome day and I learned a lot from this experience.
