Prayer

Dear Lord

We pray for our new Student Leaders,

That they may have wisdom and discernment to act

for the welfare of all students and the school community.

Give them endurance through the year as they fulfil their roles,

while continuing to carry out the expectations of both themselves and others.

Continue to encourage them as they support others.

Let us be thankful and gracious as they go above and beyond to support the school,

the staff and leadership team

and to be authentic leaders for the coming year and beyond.

St Pius X, Pray for Us

Live Jesus in our Hearts, Forever

Amen

2023 Student Leaders' Investiture

On behalf of the College I wholeheartedly congratulate our 2023 Year 12 cohort on their outstanding presentation on Monday.

We thank special guest speaker, Assistant Police Commissioner Martin Fileman, for his address to the College. His speech was very well received by the audience and focused on three values of "professionalism, resilience and integrity".  He also spoke about the value of 'followship', which is the extremely important to the leadership process.

The College Captain, Eamon Boyle addressed the College community, encouraging everyone to become involved in the life of the school.  Eamon also announced the College Motto for 2023:

Listening to Learn, Learning to Listen

This motto was developed by the 2023 Student Leadership Team over the past two months and is inspired by the First Nations' concept of 'dadirri', which means 'deep listening'.

Listening to Learn, Learning to Listen applies to every aspect of school life from our faith life together, our studies, our sporting and cultural endeavours and especially our friendships and the care and wellbeing of each other.

I attach Eamon's speech below:

Every student was presented by their Homeroom teachers to Mr Couani and  were given their Senior badge and Senior tie.

It was impressive hearing from each of the Prefects in their chosen leadership area including:

Mission and Identity – Thomas Ryan, Daniel Walters, Luke Sissons

Learning - Xander Buckingham, Jamie Leong, Edward Turner

Wellbeing - William Sykes, Thomas Wilkins, Liam Thomson

Cultural - Luke Sarkissian, Aaron Lau, Henrik Hogg

Sporting - Lucas Hamill, Zachary Flynn, Isaac Byrne, William Pavely

I share with you some of the photos of the Year 12 2023 class at the Investiture.

Thank you for your understanding around these last minute changes.

EREA Principals' Breakfast Meeting

The College was pleased to host the Eastern Region EREA Principals for a breakfast meeting yesterday morning in the Sarto Centre.  We also welcomed our new Principal, Mr Michael Ronchetti who met with our new Student Leadership Team after the meeting.  We also look forward to Mr Ronchetti meeting with staff this afternoon at our Staff Meeting.

P&F Meeting - Postponed

The Term 4 P&F AGM, scheduled for 31 October has been POSTPONED.  The decision has been made to postpone the AGM until next year when the new Principal, Mr Michael Ronchetti, will commence.

In the meantime, we would also like to engage with the community, seeking those who would be interested in joining the P&F.

The School P&F is a very important group that addresses a broad range of issues. You can join the P&F as a great way to involve yourself in the community, to safeguard the best interests of your children and to look for creative ways to fund school projects that will benefit all your boys. There are 4 meetings a year and the P&F also assist with functions throughout the year.  Our P&F is a great group of parents who love supporting the boys and the school and we welcome new parents to join the committee to find out how easy but also fulfilling it is.

The positions that are up for election this year are:

1. President

2. Vice President

3. Secretary

4. Assistant Secretary

5. Treasurer

6. Social Co-ordinator(s)

7. Communications Co-ordinator(s)

8. Class Parent Co-ordinator

9. NSW Parents Council Representative

Please click the link below to show your interest, and one of the current committee members will call you to discuss at a time that suits you. While the current committee members have been involved for many years, most will be in the school for at least another year and will therefore be available to assist and shadow where required.
