CEPS Kids are

Friendly Kids

This term we are working on COURTESY

and next week we are looking at

I CAN BE AN ATTENTIVE LISTENER

Listening is one of the most important skills any child or adult can develop.  Listening involves a lot more than hearing.  Listening means concentrating on what the other person is saying, showing that you are listening by looking at the speaker and responding in some way; perhaps by nodding your head and certainly by responding to what they say with a question or statement.

LISTENING – SOME DO’S AND DON’TS

  • Do look at the person speaking.
  • Stand still while you’re listening.
  • Respond to the speaker.
  • Don’t fidget or look at the ground.
  • Do concentrate on what you want to say.
  • Don’t ignore the speaker or change the subject unless that is appropriate.
