P&C NEWS

Welcome to our new executive member Lauren Nichols.

Our Secretary position remains vacant.

If you have any enquiries, please reach out by either calling the school office or emailing us at ofpspc@gmail.com.

We are a small group so we always welcome new faces at our meetings, whether it be regular or casual attendance.

Clare Tomkins

Treasurer

Next meeting: General meeting Wednesday, 10 May commencing at 6.30pm in the school library.

A note from a new member...

Have you been thinking about attending one of our P&C meetings, but not entirely sure what to expect?

Here’s an example of some of the topics that have been on our agenda for discussion, planning and implementation so far this year;

  • Review of previous meeting’s minutes (what was discussed at our last meeting)
  • Principal's report
  • Treasurer's report
  • Canteen update
  • School discos
  • Easter raffle
  • Mother’s Day stall
  • Yarning circle (planning for our new inclusive outdoor bbq area)
  • COS gala day
  • PBL events
  • Anti-Bullying
  • Club grants to help fund various projects around our school
  • P&C Gazebo and Esky purchase for school events

Did you know that our canteen is P&C run and operated? Without our P&C members and volunteers, our canteen - along with many other beloved events such as school discos, colour run, pie drive and Mother’s & Father’s Day stalls - would simply not be possible.

Events like these raise vital funds, 100% of which go back into our school for our students and the school community. For example, our solar panels, Base Ten Blocks maths resources for every classroom, decodable readers system for K-2, our multipurpose sports court and Cooinda Cove landscaping were all possible thanks to the amazing fundraising efforts of our P&C.

As a Mum of a new Kindergarten student this year, I want to see fantastic things like the above continue to be possible for my daughter and her peers in the future. This is why I made the decision to join the P&C, so I can be a part of the wonderful work the committee does and help out where I can.

There is no pressure to attend every meeting, or expectation to contribute to everything on the agenda - everyone is free to help out wherever they can. Whether that be a lot or just a little, it is all appreciated and goes toward constantly making our school an even better place for our students and community. You can even just pop into a meeting to listen in on our agenda and what’s currently being planned and discussed. If you are unable to attend meetings but would like to volunteer your time to assist at different events occasionally, please let us know!

It would certainly be wonderful to see some more new faces! So don’t be afraid to come and say hi!
