Learning @ Brigidine

“Learning is not attained by chance. It must be sought for with ardour and attended with diligence.”  Abigail Adams

“The capacity to learn is a gift; the ability to learn is a skill; the willingness to learn is a choice.” Brian Herbert

As Term 1 concludes we would like to take this opportunity to commend students on all that they have accomplished in what has been a rewarding and at times challenging term. As the April holidays commence, we move to the end of the Lenten season and to the most significant point in the Christian calendar, we are reminded of the hope that underpins the foundation and ongoing faith life of the College. Hope is always forward-looking, and we encourage students no matter how they approached Term 1 and the success they have had, to reflect on their resilience and commitment to their learning. This reflection will allow students to acknowledge how they have approached learning so far this year but perhaps also identify a need to apply themselves more to achieve their personal best. It is important that the girls take a break and recharge after the term, to ensure they return reinvigorated to build on all that they have achieved and learnt in Term 1.

As our Year 12 students approach their final two terms of classes, I would like to encourage them to continue with their studies and maintain the determination and resilience they displayed throughout Term 1. I would also like to encourage our Year 12 students to engage with the plethora of resources that are available to them as they complete their HSC journey:

ATAR Notes - HSC Online Lectures

Between April 11-14, ATAR Notes is running free HSC online lectures. There is no cost to register. Students can register for as many subjects as they like via the ATAR Notes Lectures website

The lectures are designed to assist students with additional support for their subjects through the April school holidays. The sessions are delivered by high-achieving recent graduates and Lecture recordings are available to re-watch at any time, and students can download the slides to aid revision.

Careers

A reminder for our Year 12 students that UAC applications are now open. If students have not yet received their UAC pin, it is important that they contact UAC immediately.

Year 12 students are also encouraged to ensure that they are familiar with the UAC dates so that no deadlines or opportunities are missed.

Throughout April and May, UAC is hosting a series of webinars that will assist students in navigating the application process. The first webinar will take place on Wednesday 26 April commencing at 6:00 pm. The webinar will introduce students to participating universities, and why they should be considered for future students and will look to 2024.

I wish all families a safe holiday and all the joy that Easter Sunday brings.
