2023 Primary School Interhouse Swimming Carnival

On Thursday 9 March it was the Primary School’s Interhouse Swimming Carnival. There was lots of nervous energy on show leading up to the carnival with plenty of Year Threes not knowing what to expect, anxiously waiting to see what all the excitement was about. The day started with all Houses in fine vocal form expertly displaying their hard work with the war cries kick starting the day off extremely well.

I was very impressed with our participation levels this year. Our carnivals are compulsory and by taking part in the 'carnival' or 'championship' pathways, students are earning points for their Houses. Congratulations to Mokare who won the carnival for the 7th year in a row.

I would also like to mention what a wonderful place Great Southern Grammar is to be. The support shown by our students and parents of all competitors was truly remarkable. No matter what the race or who the competitor, the support was loud and positive, cheering every competitor right until the finish. I am sure that everybody slept well that night.

Thank you to all the parents who were able to help on the day. Without your support the carnival would not have run as smoothly as it did and I personally thank each and every one of you for your support. Also, a huge thank you to the staff of the School who helped out, you were all amazing.
