Family Picnic

We are excited to welcome all PVCC families to our upcoming Family Picnic next week!

Friday 17 March 5:00 – 7:00pm

Come along to meet and connect with other college families, while enjoying your picnic. We’ll gather on the grassy hill between the car park and the primary basketball courts and enjoy some live music from singer-songwriter Grace Frost, a former PVCC student who was recently on Australia’s Got Talent!

There will also be some games for children to join if they wish, and our Parents and Friends will be running a $2 Sausage Sizzle. All funds raised from this event will go towards the Vanuatu Disaster Relief.

Bring along your picnic blanket, camping chairs, food and drinks (no alcohol please).

We look forward to seeing you there!

2022 Dux and High Achievers Presentation

A special Senior School assembly was recently held to recognise and award the 2022 PVCC Dux and High Achievers for their efforts and achievements.

The 2022 Dux was awarded to Amaya L.

High Achievers awards were presented to Jeremy A, Elijah B, Keziah C and Ethan V.

The 2022 PVCC Dux, Amaya L, shared an inspiring acceptance speech, highlighting that despite significant challenges on her road to VCE and transferring to the college at the start of term 2, with support from family, new friends and teachers, she was able to find her place at PVCC and make the most of the rest of the year of study.

She shared some helpful study tips and reflections with Year 10, 11 and 12 students and thanked her family, classmates and teachers for their support. She is studying a Bachelor of Arts/Teaching at the University of Melbourne.

The assembly was followed by a celebration lunch for these high-achieving students and their families and teachers. Congratulations to them all on their achievements and we wish them well as they commence their tertiary studies.

VANUATU Disaster Relief Fundraiser

The nation of Vanuatu has had the misfortune of having had not one, but two cyclones and two earthquakes hit the country in the last few days.

The college has been sending students on mission awareness tours to Vanuatu since 2012 with our mission partners, Mission Ventures Australia.

To show solidarity with the people of Vanuatu and to assist the work Mission Ventures will be undertaking, there will be an out-of-uniform day for all primary students, on Thursday 16 March, where all proceeds will be directed to support the immediate needs of those impacted by the cyclone.  Primary students are encouraged to wear as many of the colours of the Vanuatu flag as they can (red, black, green and yellow) and to bring a minimum of a gold coin.

Further to this there will be a sausage sizzle for all secondary students during lunchtime on Friday 17 March, and once again, students are encouraged to bring money to purchase some of the hot food that will be available for sale.  Any donations are most welcome.

All families attending the Family Picnic, which will be held at the college from 5:00-7:00pm on Friday 17 March, will also be able to show their active support for the people of Vanuatu.
