Message to families about remote learning

Dear Parents and Carers,

As a society, we are currently experiencing unprecedented times. Many of us are feeling the pressure of juggling different roles and responsibilities.

Our children are individuals with different learning styles. We realise that families cannot complete the same curriculum that students would usually undertake onsite at Yarrabah, supported by teachers, education support staff (ES), therapists and specialists. Nor is there the expectation that students will work on school activities from 9am-3pm.

Instead, we encourage you to go at your own pace when supporting your child, be kind to yourself and choose what works best for you and your child, including the amount of time spent on curriculum activities.

Education can be found in different areas. Ideas include, but are not limited to: cooking, playing a game, watching a movie, bike riding, singing and dancing, reading a book, sensory play, going on a bear hunt walk, doing puzzles and completing household tasks.

What is most important, during this period of remote learning, is that Yarrabah families and students maintain a connection with the school, our staff and our programs.

Please remember that we are here to support you.

Warm Regards,

Matthew Harris

Principal

Send home resource packs.

Thank you to our incredible staff for putting together and hand delivering resource packs to families over the past weeks. Members from across all of the sections have been very busy making these packs. Your efforts are greatly appreciated!
