Second-hand Book Swap Night

The first trial-run of the Bairnsdale Secondary College Book Swap Night was a success! We had many families come to both buy and sell second-hand textbooks, and we were able facilitate plenty of matches between buyers and sellers.

We do still have contact details for several sellers of second-hand textbooks, so if you were unable to make the book swap night, or couldn't find the book you were looking for at the time you were present, please don't hesitate to contact the Library on 5150 4830 to inquire if we know of anyone willing to sell. Don't forget though, that if you can't buy your book second-hand before the book-list due date (or at least have a deal lined up), that you will need to buy it new.

Now it is merely a matter of buyers waiting until their seller has finished using their textbook. At that point the seller will contact the buyer to arrange a safe and friendly transaction location. We recommend that you could arrange to meet in our Administration Office here at the school at an allocated time that works for both parties, or else at somewhere neutral in town like McDonald's.

A big thanks goes out to all of the staff and student volunteers who made the night possible and helped things run so smoothly! And also to our fabulous parents and students, both current and future, who came on the night to utilise the service. It is highly likely that we'll repeat the Book Swap Night in 2020, possibly early in November.
