I/We RISE

I/We RISE!
Hello Aspire CCPA,
In celebration of Black History Month, I share with you a quote from the great Maya Angelou. This is an excerpt from the Poem Still I Rise.
" Bringing the gift that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave
I rise
I rise
I rise"
For your enjoyment, I have also added a video with Maya Angelou reciting her award-winning poem.
This poem speaks to me the most as I reflect on these past few weeks. We all know the work endless, tiresome, draining and can be completely exhausting. Leaving many of us feeling the weight of the world on our shoulders. Being an educator is difficult and not many truly understand the work that we do. However, thought difficult still we RISE! Like the phoenixes rising from the ashes we RISE! We are the DREAM and HOPE for the future.
Thank you Aspire CCPA, for transferring the gifts given to us by our ancestors and transferring to the next generations of educators, doctors, scholars, musicians, artists, and critical thinkers. Thank you, for always RISING to the occasion.
Enjoy your weekends everyone.
Best,
Mike
